Committees

 

 As a valued POWER member, we invite you to actively shape our future by joining one of our committees.

Our committees are crucial in executing initiatives, delivering programs, and supporting our mission. Whether you have a passion for planning, leading, or producing a program, membership, marketing/communication, governance, engagement/inclusion, or any other area of interest, there is a place for you to contribute your skills and energy.


Here’s how you can get involved:

Committee Focus Area: [Technology, DEI, Emerging Leaders, Finance, Governance, Marketing, Membership, Mentoring, Programming, Executive Roundtable, Advocate Award, Sponsorship]

Commitment: The ask is approximately two hours per month. Attend a monthly committee meeting. Responsible for one action item within the committee. Encouraged to attend Programs.

Benefits: Joining a committee allows you to network with other like-minded individuals, develop new skills, and directly impact our community.

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee helps to establish and monitor the policies of the POWER Board of Directors and POWER’s overall infrastructure. The Governance committee is responsible for ensuring an effective and engaged Board of Directors and committee structure, in alignment with the Bylaws. POWER's Nomination Subcommittee is also a part of the Governance Committee.

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee has three equally important objectives: managing the conversion process of prospect to sponsor, ensuring value for current sponsors, and supporting POWER President in the renewal process for prospects. All the while, the Sponsorship Committee offers committee members sales, business development, and leadership development opportunities throughout their time volunteering with the committee.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee ensures POWER's financial records are accurate and complete. They provide financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the annual operating budget.

Emerging Leaders Committee

POWER's Emerging Leaders Committee is responsible for building, planning, and delivering programs with topics that are most relevant to the next generation of women leaders and those engaged in developing their leadership potential. This group also provides significant opportunities to interact with and learn from leaders throughout the Philadelphia Region.

Technology Committee

The Technology Committee promotes the strategic initiatives of POWER through the efficient use of technology. Responsibilities include sourcing and implementing new technology to enhance data quality, efficiency, and POWER member experience, act as liaison to other POWER committees to ensure awareness and adoption of features of POWER’s tech tools within each committee’s scope. 

Programming Committee

The purpose of the Programming Committee is to collaborate with other Power Committees and professionals to design and curate relevant programs of diverse topics that meet the professional, leadership, and personal development needs of women at various career stages. The committee coordinates logistical details for in-person and virtual programs as well as evaluate event effectiveness through feedback and adjust future programming based on participant needs and preferences.

This committee is responsible for building, planning, and delivering events in align with the POWER mission. Members have the opportunity to expand their network and skill set by analyzing surveys to create meaningful programs, leading or participating in dynamic teams that bring ideas to life and interacting with speakers and other leaders in the POWER community.

Executive Roundtable Committee

The purpose of the Executive Roundtable Committee is to curate, develop, and deliver impactful, high-level programming that supports the professional growth, leadership development, and strategic connectivity of executive-level women in POWER.

This committee is dedicated to creating both in-person and virtual experiences that foster meaningful dialogue, inspire thought leadership, and provide actionable insights aligned with the evolving needs of today’s senior women leaders. By offering a blend of exclusive content, peer-to-peer learning, and dynamic networking opportunities, the Executive Roundtable Committee plays a critical role in empowering women to lead boldly, influence widely, and elevate each other within their industries and communities.

Advocate Award Committee

The Advocate Award Committee is a subcommittee of the Programming Committee, this committee focuses exclusively on the planning and executing the annual Advocate Award, which is POWER’s largest event of the year. The responsibilities include event planning, marketing, supporting the event execution, engaging recipients, and interfacing with sponsors.

Marketing Committee

The purpose of the Marketing Committee is to create a consistent communications plan and messaging for the organization. They play a role in every POWER Committee and lend a helping hand in generating innovative and consistent messaging to tell the POWER Story. Responsibilities Include building POWER's Marketing Calendar to support events and drive engagement, creating content and marketing assets to support each campaign, lead communications liaison to other POWER committees to craft communications copy.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

The DEI committee acts as a liaison to all POWER committees to ensure that our programs, mentorship, and purposeful networking experiences are diverse, equitable, and inclusive. This committee is dedicated to creating a more equitable environment for the next generation of women or those that identify as women to achieve their leadership potential.

Mentoring Circle Committee

This committee is responsible for implementing the EMPOWER – U mentoring circles once a year. POWER’s Empower-U Mentoring Circle Committee creates a unique opportunity to volunteer in a group focused on developing future leaders. Our mentoring circles allow for the exchange of lessons learned from experience and first-hand advice from today’s leaders. Discussion topics focused on accelerating a woman’s full potential in the workplace.

In Transition Committee

The In Transition Committee meets monthly virtually with current POWER members that are in transition with their careers and looking to connect to building new relationships, skill sets, and broaden their search for a new opportunity utilizing POWER’s network.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for the retention and attraction of individual members. This committee identifies prospective new members, educates new members on their POWER benefits, and communicates with individual members to understand what they seek out of POWER.
