New Manager 101:

Congratulations on Your Promotion…Now What Do You Do?

Many new managers receive very little leadership training prior to their first leadership role. This can result in a rocky transition into management, filled with self-doubt and even friction on the team. While new leaders may have had experience leading projects or may have excelled in their work as an individual contributor, the transition to people leader requires a fundamental shift in the skills used on a day to day basis.

Are you a newly promoted manager or striving to become one? You don’t have to figure it out yourself! Joining our New Manager 101 Panel Discussion on February 15th at 12:00 – 1:00 to learn:
· Identifying and Bridging Skills Gaps
· Managing Higher Management and Their Expectations
· Accountability: Keeping Direct Reports Accountable for their Responsibilities
· Taking a Fresh Perspective at your Managerial Role, Seeing Opportunities beyond what the role has been in the past
· Assessing (and building) the level of trust within your team.

The panelists will discuss their career paths and the challenges and successes they experienced when first becoming managers. They will share tips and tricks for leading a team while you are still learning yourself.

Some of you may remember the event that POWER presented on this topic in 2022. Don’t worry! You do not need to have attended that program to join this one, and it is not a repeat of the same material. We have engaged different speakers to emphasize different challenges of being a new time manager.
